Background:
THX-1492 is a veribot, a designated "leader" among robots. Veribots have higher intelligence than most robots and their operating systems are hard wired making them resistant to corruption. Veribots were responsible for maintaining, updating and verifying the veracity of robotic, computer and cybernetic installation programming. THX-1492's primary function is overseeing the health of programming among other robots (a sort of robot "priest"). Independent action circuits enable THX-1492 to go beyond its normal programming to carry out its tasks.
THX was activated on the planet at Rho Cancri to reprogram General Purpose robots for excavation and archeological work. It shut down and rebooted to find the excavation long since abandoned and the dropship overgrown with vegetation. THX seemed to be suddenly transformed through time to when the ship was still functional. The ship's lieutenant, Ken Matahachi, appeared to him. Ken installed new software and two new systems. The new systems are above the 12 that normal robots can support, but they function normally for some reason.
Appearance:
Dull green copper exterior, biped with rounded joints, central readout display on chest, "head" is ovoid clear material with CPU visible inside. Markings on back designate it as a Veribot, THX Mark III.
